Sexism, from the male point of view

I would have wrote about A Thousand Splended Sun but I am in the process of reading it so I am going to talk about sexism from a male point of view.

Sexism is typically given as a unfair advantage for males from the female perspective, however, this seems to be pointing the finger at men and blaming the male sex but a better way to put the sexist plight is to say women have an unfair disadvantage. I am not arguing whether or not sexism is a problem in today's society, just the phrasing and the protesting that happens. If there truely is a disadvantage, then state it like that. The male sex has noted fored this on women, it is a social problem and the whole society is not to blame. The Awakening and A Doll's House puts hte blame on the men, says that men have an unfair advantage and that men supress women. This really isn't case, women, if anything, have an unfair disadvantage from birth and this is because of nature and nuture.

Nature wise, testostorne is the major difference between men and women. Testostorne causes hightend rage and anger and will supress sadness and cortasil, a stress and worry hormone. Testostorne also allows for larger muscle mass and a bigger frame for physical superioty. Estrogen, the femal hormone, is more connected to childbirth and causes bigger mood swings and more attention to sadness and compasion. There are different connections and the brain for these emotions and men are more left side dominate and women are more right side dominate, from birth.

Nurture can be explained by the leader v dead even philisophy. Dead even is where females use dolls and certain games where all members are even in rank and power and this explains why women will tear each other down if one gets further ahead. Males play sports and games where there is a leader and boys happily conform to that leader and that is why males can easily be lead by a fellow male.

Sexism may stil be a problem, but it is not blamable on men, it is an unfair disadvantage to females caused by the whole society.

Law Enforcement

I am watching these cop chases and crime shows and now i would like to take a minute to ask the class what they would do if they were a cop.

First, i want to start with the questions,
1. In a high speed chase, and you are the cop, what do you do?
2. If you are a cop and someone runs from you, what do you do?
3. Someone has a gun and is threating someone else with it, what do you do?
4. Someone wants to blow their own brains out?
5. Murderer with no real motive, rapist, criminal of the such and you catch him, he wont be in jail for long.
6. Gang overruns the town.
7. Old drivers, need i say more.

Now, i want to have you answer these questions before you read my response as to not create a bias.

1. I would take out the car as soon as possible, shoot the tires, shoot the driver, and if it is a bad chase were the person hurt other people or tried to, i would just kill him/her (not to leave out the ladies). They obivisiouly didnt care about other people's lives so why should I. if the car slows down or anything, i WILL take it out.
2. They arent running because they are innocent, so i would shoot them in the leg, or beat them down. Nothing fatal.
3. Easy, shoot them in the head, if hostages, take the shot when i can.
4. Let them
5. Hunt them down, and publically excute them. When they catch those arrsonists in Coatsville, they should set them on fire in the streets. If the yare proven guilty, then torch them, no trial.
6. Bring in the national guard and go on a little target practice.
7. Retest them every two years starting at fifty, if they dont have good enough reaction times, mental focus, etc. then no more car for you.

I am not sadistic, i just want real justice for once on this planet.

It us

Where did it all go wrong?
Do we fall out of key
On this twisted love song,
Or is it just me
The love use to be great
Seemed like ecstasy
But my heart in a saddened state
Or is it just me

You pushed away
Since we never could agree
With this I have no need to stay
Or is it just me

I know this is going to hurt you
But I can’t be held back by your pleas
Even though I will miss you too
Or is it just me

So now this marks the end
And I don’t want to sound cruel
I will still want to be your friend
But I think its no just me, its also you.

In The Awakening, Kate Chopin makes a social commentary on how Edna was trapped by her society into a marriage that she did not want to be in and how her love should be able to set her free. I am not going to argue that social commentary (you are spared Ms. Demers) but the book, if taken into today’s time period, raises a different societal question, the ruin of the institution of marriage. In so many movies, books, and television shows, marriage is beaten down over romantic affairs and cheaters never get their just desserts. Edna, if taken out of her social commentary, was a cheater and is a perfect example of what is wrong with the country today.
Many problems can be blamed on the lack of respect for the union of marriage. Economic troubles have direct correlation with marriage status. In New York City, there is a divorce rate of 75%, and that was taken a few years ago so it may very well be higher. Education of children suffers if a child does not have both parents at home to pull attention from and get help because if a child has problems at home, then there is no use trying to educate said child. Many murders can be blamed on cheating wives and husbands. All these problems are because not too many people are left that care to work through a marriage and take the union as serious as it is.
Edna married because she felt that was her only choice, though it wasn’t, and because she married not for love and complete devotion, her marriage failed and she ended up killing herself for it. Marriage to the government may just be a legal relationship and a tying of bank accounts and medical consent, but marriage in the real world should, and was, a union of two people who were completely devoted to each other and till death do they part. Today, marriage is just done on a whim and if it doesn’t work, then people get divorce, tearing the children apart and ruining a chance at a normal life. Women have many different choices than get married.
